PZI Programs & Gatherings
Please use the menu to the left to learn more about many different ways you can join with others to practice Zen and work with koans.
Long Retreats/Sesshin
PZI offers four week-long retreats, called Sesshin, each year — one for each of the four seasons.
Evening Programs
All of the PZI Centers hold regular weekly evening programs that center on meditation and usually include a talk, and sometimes music or other activities.
DayRetreats
There are different kinds of one-day retreats. These shorter retreats are a great way to immerse yourself in meditation and koans without needing to take a long vacation. They are also an excellent way to prepare for a longer retreat.
Small Koan Groups
These are small local groups that meet for 6-week sessions to meditation and explore koans together. During these regular sessions all of the groups work with the same koan. The koans are selected by John Tarrant and associated material for consideration and discussion by the small groups is posted on his blog each week.
Work in the Room (private interviews)
Work in the Room is a time when teachers meet privately with practitioners.
Morning Programs
The Santa Rosa Creek Zendo offers regular Sunday Morning Programs as well as Friday morning Tai Chi practice.
Zen & the Arts
Art can be a spiritual practice and spiritual practice can be an art. Join us for one of these special programs.
